Built in 1923, Da Nang Cathedral is a Catholic church in the French period. It is marked by the wind vane on its tall clock tower. It is also known as the Rooster Church and is the largest western church in central Vietnam. The medieval-style painted large glass windows contrast with the pink look, and are cute and lovely. There is a mass on Sunday.
Next to the church is a convent of St. Paul with more than 100 nuns. They wear white clothes in the summer and black clothes in the winter, and go to the monastery on the other side of the Hanjiang River. When entering the interior of the Da Nang Cathedral, you must keep quiet and cannot scream and run.
This is a pink Cathedral and the appearance is fresh and lovely, you can just stroll around, and ten minutes is enough to finish visiting the Cathedral. The church is located in the heart of Da Nang, within walking distance of the market and Bar Street. Take a taxi from My Khe Beach and it takes around 50,000 VND. Some people think that the Da Nang Cathedral is more general and shows the style of a toy. Compared with European churches, it is neither magnificent nor refined.

The church does not require tickets and the interior is open from 11:30 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. Mass time is at 5:30 and 17:30 from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, it is at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, 15:30, 17:30. Note that the iron gate outside the church will be locked at night. So, don’t come there too late.
