Qingdao Underwater World

Qingdao Underwater World is located on the west side of No. 1 Bathing Beach. It is a theme venue that showcases the undersea environment and marine life. Here, you can not only see many living marine animals and biological specimens, but also enjoy wonderful underwater performances, which is very suitable for parent-child excursions.

First of all, in the Dream Jellyfish Palace, you will see thousands of jellyfish fighting for beauty under the light mapping, and then you can go to the seal house to see the cute seals, sea lions and penguins, and you can also see various marine life specimens such as sperm whales, swordfish, and sea turtles in the marine herbarium, which has the most abundant collection in the country.

Next, the “Underwater World” pavilion built completely underground will give you a full-scale view of the seabed. You can walk in a fully transparent undersea tunnel, feel the fish around you, or watch schools of tropical fish such as clownfish swimming around the coral through the world’s largest cylindrical exhibition tank.

The live underwater performances in the Ocean Theater are even more popular. You can enjoy the thrilling “Dancing with Sharks”, the beautiful and dreamy “Mermaid” performances, and sometimes you can also see humorous sketches performed by divers underwater.

After learning about marine life, you can finally go to the Freshwater Biology Museum to visit the rare freshwater creatures such as giant bonefish, Chinese sturgeon, and baby fish, and see these “living fossils”.

There are multiple exhibition halls in Qingdao Underwater World, which integrate the original tourist attractions such as Qingdao Aquarium, Herbarium, and Freshwater Fish Museum, and it integrates marine sightseeing tourism and popular science education. The tour route is one-way and you cannot go back. The order of the tour is: Dream Jellyfish Palace-Seal Museum-Marine Biological Museum-Underwater World-Freshwater Museum.
